Zia aka Norizan Safrudin
I'm a PhD Candidate and Research Associate for the Business Transformation Academy, Australia/New Zealand hub, at the Information Systems School, Science and Engineering Faculty, Queensland University of Technology
Being a researcher means I get to 'search' and 're-search' for a living, i.e.; I get to ask questions till my curiosity is satisfied and my heart's content. What I really love about it is the freedom to apply creative, problem-solving skills and turn something that most would perceive as stale and boring into something exciting and novel.
I am researching how IT can transform a business – I use jazz music as a metaphor to develop a theory where senior executives can apply the principles of melody, harmony and rhythm to manage business transformations.
The best thing is that I get to travel the world to present my research findings, and along the way I meet some truly amazing and inspiring people.
